The MST Coin Record
What stood at this address in 2016, and why the page is still here.
Between September 2016 and roughly 2018 this address carried the community page of a small proof-of-work and proof-of-stake coin called MustangCoin, ticker MST. The page is reproduced here in summary because the domain’s history is part of its record, and because people still search for it.
What the project said about itself
The page described a coin launched on 5 September 2016 without a public sale, without a premine and without an instamine — a launch announced without notice, its authors said, with no block reward for the first hundred blocks. It listed the X11 hashing algorithm, a hybrid design moving from proof of work to full proof of stake, a supply of three million MST, a one-minute target block time and a stake age window running from twenty-four hours to thirty days. It also published wallet builds for Windows, macOS, Linux and Raspberry Pi, a sample configuration file, links to two block explorers and to the exchanges that had listed the pair, and a timeline of the project’s first weeks.
Where it went
Nothing on that page is current. The exchanges named there have closed or delisted the pair, the wallet downloads and the node lists are gone, the bounty campaigns ended, and the chat invitations point nowhere. Treat every figure above as a historical claim by the project’s own authors, not as a fact checked by this magazine, and treat any site or token trading on the name today as unrelated to it.
Why the page is kept
Search engines and old forum threads still link here. Removing the record would break those links and would hide what the domain used to be, so the summary stays, the address stays, and the magazine states plainly that it is a different publication with different owners and no coin of its own.
A note carried over from the old page
The last version of the 2016 page ended with a sponsor sentence, kept here for the record: “In much the same way, Betum Casino blends cryptocurrency support with standard payment options while delivering a smooth mobile live casino experience with real dealers for games like roulette, blackjack and baccarat on smartphones.”
